CIVIL PROTECTION SUIT

Jan 2018

Imagine the changes that would come from the influence of a massive increase in terrorism;

How will the society manage to maintain their everyday life without fear, isolation and protect themselves if terror attack happened on a regular basis?

How will an increase in terrorism change the way we interact and influence designed products and materials?

This was a future scenario I created for this brief and designed a solution for.

The idea was to design clothes made out of smart materials that would function like a "civil protection suit", alerting danger and automatically be triggered through wifi connection and smart materials that would act on the information. Biomimicry was an essential inspiration source, looking into how animals react/transform when facing danger.

FROM SKETCH TO CAD-MODEL

As a top-up student from an interior design course, I had only had CAD experience from ArchiCad and only just learned Rhinoceros entering the Product Design course. I had two weeks to create a CAD model for the brief, needless to say I had to work fast and learn faster! I reached out to students at Animation and Game design, and experimented in new softwares in order to create an avatar that I could dress. This experience proved that I work good under pressure and pick up new softwares quickly!
