Papillon
"DISCONNECT TO CONNECT"
The Papillon Storage boxes was my contribution to the RSA design competition. In this brief I addressed the connection between mental health and productivity in the workplace. Research led me to believe technology can trigger addiction and depression that can manifest in peoples private life and careers.

CONCEPT IDEA
My concept encourages people to disconnect with their phone and connect with their surroundings and co-workers. The Papillon boxes will be placed in several hotspots in the office for people to store their phone when at work either for short periods to charge it, or the entire workday. With nomophobia (fear of being separated from phone) in mind , I designed a monitor that works as a substitute for the phone and help ease the anxiety of leaving the phone. The monitor is a screen connected to the phone and via an app you can set up which information you want to receive while you´re at your desk.

My very first prototype. I installed LED strips under the "grid system" that the Papillons are supposed to be installed. When in use the box lights up.
